You sound kinda naive!

The problem is that many Iraqis just don't believe what the Americans are saying they are doing for Iraq. They believe that all that talk about establishing democracy is just an excuse to establish American hegemony in the Middle East and to emasculate them in order to secure and control their black gold ---- OIL!

Not until the US is able to convince the Iraqis that the US is genuinely sincere will the Iraqis respond positively.

From what I and others have seen of US machinations in the Middle East, I don't blame the Iraqis for being suspicious and distrustful of US motives.
