Easily explained - the 10 deaths was from intentional overdose of NSAIDs. The 16,500 deaths was from all-cause GI bleeds. I've seen figures (speaking from memory here, but they are quoted on the thread) of something like 10k deaths from GI bleeds annually attributable to NSAID use.
