el-

those lyrics are so, so .... grating
to me, anyway.

we've - us - our fambly - have decided
to take all of the commercialism out of
the season - well, as much as we could -
some gifts had already been purchased,
like the odd used book from amazon <s>.

when you can't remember what you gave, or
what you received the previous year, its
time to revisit the entire concept and
we're doing that and it's such a relief
not to have to live that song! <vbg>

ep,

Sounds like it belongs on the soundtrack of National Lampoon's Christmas Vacation.

Thanks for the words.

That's the song.

It sort of hints at some of the extended family Christmas
parties I remember.

At least pokes a little fun at the disfunctional family
Christmas.

Wow they sure went through a lot of tampons in that family.
Two trips to the convenience store...

Jeesh.

Anyhow, at least the dude was thankful in tone despite the
chaos. At least that is the way I see it.

Yesterday we only needed one trip to the Quicky Mart.
Newport Lights, Diet Pepsi, Ice, Onion Dip, and another
12 pack of Molson.
No Tampons though. Two of my sister-in-laws are pregnant...

...just as cranky, though.

P.S. I tried Apple Martinis for the first time.
Not bad. A tad too sweet but had a nice knock on my forehead.
To my brothers and I, the chaos seemed a bit funnier after a
couple of those.
The Molsons went down better, though...
