'they just don't want people to get off the government tit' exactly correct. this is how they make their salaries, power. the left has always wanted to create social programs to generate jobs etc. Keep funding them, make them larger , and if they close them down open a new larger one. Of course they need more and more taxes from higher income groups, corp. , sales tax, gasoline tax. Oh, Rendell is going to increase our gas tax next month if approved to keep septa running in philly, no way, do they want to lay off any workers or raise rates , so the state will pay for philly transportation. It will be part of a gas tax to maintain our highways. We now have gas prices coming down and of course the states are looking at implementing gas taxes as they see folks paid for higher gas without a major revolt.. I get the feeling the states will now say , this is an easy way to get some more money without hurting our chances for re-election.
