Perhaps that's what all the heavy Fed permanents and purchases outright in November and early December was all about? Taking certain longer duration Old Maid Cards back, in exchange for others of shorter duration? Then this last week foreign custody holdings suddenly dropped $3,183 billion, and the bond market got hit.
