Why am I not surprised? I continue to be amazed at the extremes people go to. No matter the cause, there must come a point when even the advocates, themselves, realize that they've become ridiculous. I haven't yet seen any great wave of support for the embroidery. Perhaps the wave is coming. Or perhaps this is the point past which even zealots cannot go. It's possible to make an argument for Moore's rock, not a persuasive one, but an argument that can be made with a straight face. The embroidered robe is nothing but a passive-aggressive tantrum.
