I agree, but here's the thing Amy. Whatever your investment choices will be under Bush's privatized plan, the mutual fund fees will be no different than what you already pay if you own any mutual funds. So when people quote 1.5%, they are generally quoting some of the more expensive funds. Fidelity Freedom funds for instance are less than 1%. Some index funds are substantially less than that.

So Bush's plan isn't going to cost you any more than what you would pay outside his plan if you bought those same investments.
