Shields is an opportunist latching on to the latest Demolib talking point memo.

What matters is whether the point is valid. If the point is valid, the motivation is interesting but not central.

As for his motivation, I was under the impression that Shields was generally regarded more highly than that.

Interesting how you've bought the line that production isn't ramped up to meet demand or need.

Well, yes, I guess I have. I keep hearing reports about families sending body armor and humvees without armor. And then there was the problem with replacement parts. I was just watching Fred Barnes on Beltway Boys and he was fussing about it. So it never occurred to me that it was just Democratic propaganda. What makes you think that it is?

Interesting how you've bought the line that production isn't ramped up to meet demand or need. I really don't know all the facts regarding exact numbers of armored platted vehicles, nor what we need, and I doubt in the currect climate we can find a reasonably clear answer.>>>>

I doubt if anyone can answer the question.

If an armored vehicle is 1/2 a fast as an unarmored one, then it is in range for twice as long and more liable to get hit.
If an armored vehicle gets disabled, it would probably take much longer to tow it to safety.

Best bet is to keep the unarmored ones out of the fire zones.

Right now I'm watching Meet the Press with Warner, Lugar, Levin, and Biden all talking about shortfalls in equipment. You can hardly blame Russert for sharing their opinion.
