Peter, the US interest now is to pacify Iraq. There is tremendous pressure to achieve that from many quarters. What the arabs are selling to Bush is a simple ploy - appease the arabs on the expense of Israel and they will assist the US in pacifying Iraq. The logic behind this plot is that Bush will not sell Israel short and as such the US policy in Iraq will fail putting even more pressure to bring Israelis to self-destruction. If this ploy will succeed the US army will then kicked out of Iraq as terrorist activity will be unbearable for the local population and US army and ISrael will lose it's only true supporter be tranformed into an arab province. My hope is that the Israelis would read the map and adopt the muslim strategy and unravel the arab ploy. After this scheme will unravel, it will be obvious to the US and it's allies to go full force against those plotting to destroy any advancement toward democracy and any western civilization influence in the ME and Africa
