Hi Malcom,

Thanks for your comments. Right now I'm reading the rebuttal against Lovins, which mainly seems to address hydrogen. On that point you can include me with the skeptics about the hydrogen economy. I think fuel cell vehicles are a LONG ways away.

IMO the best way to reduce oil consumption now is to build more efficient vehicles that combine hybrid electric drives and lightweight construction using carbon fiber composites.

Eventually we may have fuel cell vehicles powered by ethanol (or methanol) that is reformed into hydrogen "on demand". But battery-powered vehicles will be a strong competitor.
