Because many of the culturally neutral attractive features are also a sign of good health and reproductive fitness. Symmetrical features are definitely one of those.


I had no idea that symmetry was that important to looks........we had the discussion in one of my classes and one of the actors.....they showed some actress like Kate Bosworth or Meg Ryan who had almost perfectly symmetrical faces. The whole concept seems very strange to me.

Why do you think it suggests good health and reproductive fitness?
