Huh? Where did you get the idea that I think Europe is so great? Their suffocatocracy and keptocracy is not liberalism.

Also, it's questionable that the USA has a higher standard of living overall. There's more to a standard of living than a WalMart full of Made in China and a jammed freeway drive-by shooting and cheap gasoline.

It all depends on where people live, what they want etc. A LOT of people around the world, including Americans, do NOT want to live in the USA. It's a matter of horses for courses. Different strokes for different folks.

GDP per capita, purchasing power parity adjusted is a popular measure. The USA is pre-eminent, though the crunch of the US$ might have moved positions somewhat. geographyiq.com

Russia has a higher murder rate than the USA, but South Africa is the murder zone of the world. angelfire.com

Luxembourg is obviously a good place to live, and in travelling through it, that is probably true by the look of it. It's a lovely place. Rich, peaceful and pleasant.
