oldbird,

I've been using Interactive Brokers for several months here in the US to trade TSX and TSX-V stocks directly and the commissions and executions are great. Other parts of the business (their mediocre S&P Rating, customer service) is not at the level you'd get with a regular discount broker (I have several Scottrade accounts) and of course below a full-service broker (I also have a Fidelity account) but you can't beat the low fees. eg 1 cent CDN/share over 500 shares.

I also use the R-T Level I quotes to place orders with Scottrade etc.
