In India, there is a deep rooted endearment to the British system structure of feudal society where 90% of the population is meant to serve the upper 10%. It suits India's caste system perfectly. It also suits Pakistan for many decades. Pak had woman PM Benazir Bhutto who did little to change the traditional "slaved and subservient to men" role of women, particularly in the lower socioeconomic class and religious clans. Only among the landowners, the professionals, and the merchant class that women are liberated and educated.
