EUCOM hopes to be the first major command to establish a full-bore Joint Interagency Coordination Group, a team of government and military agencies capable of intervening in troubled nations. Barnett said last night, "I want to reach the one star flags and the Captain/Colonels. They are the ones who run the military." I think everyone of them at that level has read, "The Pentagon's New Map." And they are implementing it. Barnett is going to leave the DOD and be a "one man band." He is converting part of his site over to $ to pay his way. Starting next year, he will collect directly for his lectures and get his new book out. As he put it, he doesn't want to end up like Mick Jagger, singing "Satisfaction" at age 65 to make a living.
