Calif Realtors: Median home price in Calif hits $473K By Jordan Robertson SAN FRANCISCO (CBS.MW) -- The median price for a home in California hit $473,260 in November, a 23.1 percent jump from the same period a year ago, the California Association of Realtors said Wednesday. Sales increased 4 percent to 652,340 from 627,190, according to data collected from 90 sites statewide. Los Altos in Northern California recorded the highest median home price for the month at $1.4 million, followed by Malibu at $1.39 million and Saratoga at $1.3 million. CC

$1 million dollar babies, paid in part by taxpayers medicaid. Great story about twin babies making it. But question: why on earth would anyone have a child, unless they were responsible enough to make sure they had their own medical insurance? story.news.yahoo.com

Here's another one for USA taxpayers: Thu Dec 16,10:24 AM ET WASHINGTON (AFP) - In June, Mirna finally reached the United States where last week she gave birth. "I was really lucky I didn't get caught," the teen said Mexican authorities stopped the (illegal) migrants on several occasions, she recalled, but after taking bribes they let the migrants continue north. One of her travelling companions, 17, fathered her baby. He now works in a Washington office building cleaning and visits his daughter though they have ended their romance. In Houston, Texas, Mirna was held in a house with dozens of other (illegal) migrants, only set free to their uncertain fate once their families had paid for the second half of their smuggling fee. ---------------------------------------------------- Rumsfield allows sexual traveling companions into this country, but not responsible PhD scientists. Medicaid bills go up, innovation and GDP goes down.
