[she files this in her "Smart Tips From Grandmothers" culinary
encyclopedia]

I am making my grandmothers famous "Sarma" thursday with my father

it's a two person several hour prep, 6 hour cook and a few glasses of wine experience

but well worth it

first I go to a specialty store to get the ingredients

a sour head of cabbage, home made Hungarian sausage, the sarma meat [a mix of lamb, pork and beef] and smoked ribs

[her mouth waters already]

My grandmother used to put chopped eggplant in her tomato sauce...

Did she saute or roast it first?
