bunch, in summary: you cannot access sites requiring passwords with either IE or Netscape.

I would first update all security programs, then run the antivirus scan, Spybot, AdAware [if you don't have those, get them free]. Also try Ace Utilities to clean out the registry and more. I use all the programs mentioned.

If none of this helps, do a system restore to a time when you had no problem.

Try the exact same thing, step by step, on another system before trying anything else.
