JLA, in the SI stoneage, when her thread thrived, some of us called her "Hypochrissy." Back then, she would do her best to have people kicked off SI completely. Now that as her own little cyber-fiefdom, maybe she'll stick to that. - Holly

Yet more fictions over on the Feelie's thread.

Ionesco bemoans increasing federalization of crimes. She claims there are 40,000 crimes prosecutable under federal law.

I saw the post and did a mental head scratch, and vowed to do a little fact checking.

Took me a while to get the time to look into this, but Ion (as she's fondly referred to on Feelies) has her numbers off by a factor of 10.

From what I can tell, there are approximately 4,000 federal crimes in the United States Code.
