Gold production can go down to 1500 tons per year we think, and that will bring it to historically "normal" levels. There is little to make it keep that up. CDN production is way down below its previous 200 tons year, but that has been replaced in part by increasing production from Brazil, USA and Australia. We think that South African production, long the cornerstone of world gold production and a major worry to the US dollar in times gone by, will fall drastically in the coming years with the progressive disorganization of that society and subsequent lack of foreign investment.
