An OTC pain reliever (NSAID) just hit an elderly patient population (alzheimer's) hard. Vioxx-like. The killer Vioxx trial showed an inhibition of gut polyps. Celebrex was the control for the OTC killer trial, and was clean. These are questions of risk/benefit. If one person has a rather exclusive focus on risk and runs around yelling "I told you so" after Merck has definitive drug killing data in hand, how exactly does one label him a whistle blower? Given the discussion in this thread and in others here at S.I. re. your hero, I'd say that you're the insensitive individual here, not me..... labeling this individual as whistle blower is about as arrogant as it gets, IMO.
