"How "sudden" was it?" When he was first elected governor in '94, he didn't do it, despite having lived in Texas since the '50s. Texas governors don't do TV much, so I don't know if he had adopted the accent during his tenure. He had it by the time he ran for president. For an adult to take on an accent over the course of a few years is pretty sudden. Hillary doesn't bother me. I am not from NY.

How "sudden" was it? As far as I know, he calls Texas home, and he seems like a guy who feels more comfortable there than, say, in New England. If he wants to adopt their mannerisms and talk their talk, that's fine by me. I had a girlfriend in hi school. Really nice.........great body.....cute.......and dumb as a doorknob. Three years after hi school, she moved to the FLA panhandle. Within two years, she had a thick southern drawl. She talks more southern then my cousin's wife who was born and raised on the FLA panhandle. Those who think this was all done just for politics are the same people who cook up wacko conspiracy theories revolving around Rove, all because they refuse to believe that Bush's ideology can win fairly in the arena of ideas. Its not a conspiracy theory...........its slick marketing. Tenchusatsu P.S. - Hillary suddenly pretending to be a New Yorker doesn't bother you? Does she talk like a Noo Yawker now?
