yeah, it makes sense to get rid of the vampires (the energy-sucking adapters). i read recently about people who get solar panels often really want to minimize their electricity consumption so that the utility dial is constantly spinning out credit electrons (to the grid). so it's very common for them to disconnect all the vampires. i haven't bothered yet--i'm trying to do my part to ensure higher energy prices -g-.

Thanks for the clarification. Although I think it is not hard to lower the stand by power consumption, the problem is that it may take more power to turn it back on.
