Update on that article about home prices...

Ran into one of my sons in town, and, among other things, he casually dropped that he and his bro may sell one of the places they own. That broke my heart.Really cool place, located in some moderate growth redwoods, 2-3 foot diameter. 20 acres. Sooooo cool. I said Oh, no". He said "Some guy came up and offered us 400K as is." They got it about 3 years ago for 165K.
Told him about the cost of the parcel across from the high school. He told me he could probably get 700 K for mine; later said 600K, but, what is interesting, is that this is the first time since I moved up here almost 20 years ago, and probably long before then, when I can sell my place and afford to move back to the Bay Area.

Yippee. What a thought. Gag me with a spoon, but I'm sorta surprised country land is now appreciating faster than places down south.
The beginning of the end? The end of the beginning? It is what it is.
