I am a just a little older than you)-----met Granville in the 1970's-----learned his method of analyzing a stock---before computers-----organized a seminar for him in Virginia etc.

I used to hand chart everything in the mornings from the newspapers based on the openings, hi, lo, close etc. on rudimentary graph paper.

Reg. charting one of my favorite vignettes is with my daughter at the age of two-----at 2 a.m. she was not in bed-----found her sitting in the living room on the sofa with the Wall Street Journal upside down. I staggered in and ask her what she was doing ------and she replied "I'm doing my charts." I couldn't get angry with her-----had to laugh because the paper was upside down. Digressing here.

Joseph E. Granville is known as the Granddaddy of all technicians. Wall Street considered him a real maverick with his technical analysis -----he compared the market to music and mathematics in his first book noted below.

"Granville's New Key To Stock Market Profits" 1963

"Granville's New Strategy of Daily Stock Market Timing for
Maximum Profits" 1976

"Granville's Last Stand" 1994

He may have another book out. He is still writing his newsletter The Granville Market Letter, Inc. P. O> Drawer 413006; Kansas City, Missouri 64141-----1-800-876-5388 and claims not to use a computer but still does his analysis by hand. He was early on the turn around in this market---recently has become cautious.
