Permit me a little editorial license:

Monopoly power of one branch of government reduces democratic efficiency because it is government sanctioned interference in a free political processand is also an open invitation to those who would corrupt that power to their own uses.

The point is, the restraints exercised by various interests in our government is the model of law and practice applied to the labor market. And that happened because of a history of abuse that occured under "free" market conditions, and continues today even with the restraints that exist. And yes, collective bargaining is the only way to counter the advantage of capital which it will always use to the degree it can get away with it, up to and including abuse. It ain't perfect and will never be for all concerned. And the corruption aspect of the analogy certainly applies as well.
