C B -- <<"She won't mind, though.">> Every year I receive a beautiful Christmas Card, religious no less, from two Jewish families. We each celebrate our own holidays AND those of our friends. Very pleasant and there are more celebrations that way.. it takes a few min of research or a few questions and it is so easy to blend cultures.

I just finished watching the show. Learned that Congress was in session on Christmas in the early days. Also learned that the Puritans outlawed Christmas in England. What we now think of as Christmas was contrived by the Victorians. Owing to their Puritan roots, Protestants in the US were generally slower than the Catholics and Episcopalians to adopt it. I must say I'd never before given any thought to this.
