HOW MUCH HAS THE LEFT HURT US? Wrong Question! How much has our leadership hurt us. First, not enough troops. Even though they were told by General Sinsheki, they needed more than 300,000 troops, they went in with less than 150,000. Result: We failed to impose our will on the Iraqis and there was immediate looting, chaos and anarchy. We didn't have enough troops to stop the looting or to secure the ammunition dumps or to secure the borders. Result: The insurgents quickly learned they could get away with lawless acts. Second, abuse of prisoners resulted in loss of status and respect from Iraqis and others in the Middle East. Third, we went in without support from France and Germany.

That is a totally insane point of view, don't you agree?

If you want to know who is responsible for decisions that led to thousands of US wounded and killed in action -- and if you want to know who made decisions that had the consequence of strengthening terrorist and giving them free reign in Iraq -- you don't need to look any further than President Bush.

Instead you blame the critics of the President -- talk about lame excuses.

"The obsessive compulsive Bush haters in America have been giving aid and comfort to the Islamic terrorists and insurgents who want to make Iraq a theocratic Islamic state run by a group cloned from the Taliban."

HaHaHa!

Can't this guy Boortz even keep the players straight?

Most of the violent insurgents in Iraq are SUNNI, (which stands to reason, they were the 'beneficiaries' of Saddam's rule, and are on the 'outs' now), not Shia. The Taliban were SUNNI, al Qaeda is SUNNI, Saudi Arabia and Syria are Sunni.

On the other-hand, the Theocrat-leaning majority population in Iraq is SHIITE... as is Iran. They don't have a particular need to oppose the US militarily in Iraq because they are posed to win majority control of the government through the elections. (The Theocrats in Iran are sitting back and smiling like Cheshire Cats... 'cause they will get it all handed to them on a platter.)

"There is no question that things in Iraq have not gone precisely the way many expected after the fall of Saddam."

However... things have gone pretty much *exactly* as most true experts of the region expected... including the CIA, former President Bush, General Scowcroft, etc.

Only the Pollyanna-ish 'NeoCons' seem surprised and befuddled... not the experts.
