....and nearly half of America voted for Democrats...and the Democrats can't bash Bush as easily now, as he won the election handily...

Only nine words separating the flip and the flop. That's gotta be a record. <g>

When it looks bleak, when one worries about how it's going to come out, when one reads and hears the naysayers and the doubters who say it can't be done, and that we're in a quagmire here," one should recall that there have been such doubters "throughout every conflict in the history of the world," he said.

You know, when I read that sentence I first thought of our troops in Valley Forge, Pa. in the dead of winter. Little or no food, many without proper clothing or shoes, insufficient shelter. Looked pretty bleak then, however just about this time of year Washington crossed the Deleware, surprised the Hessian troops and scored a victory that ultimately lead to the successful conclusion of the American Revolution. Then, I thought again, I thought of the Battle of the Bulge when our troops were surrounded by vastly larger numbers, low on ammunition, inadequate defensive weapons against Tiger tanks. It was also about this time of year, but our commanders reply was NUTS to the German surrender offering and you all know how it turned out.
So, seems to me, Americans rise up when things look the BLEAKEST. Unlike the French, we dont CUT AND RUN. As a popular bumper sticker says, "these colors dont run".
The enemy is going to find that out. jdn
