We have no real allies in that region except Israel. We buy (via 2 billion dollar donations to many of those countries) what minimal friendships (if you want to call them that) we have but outside of Israel and probably Kuwait we have no friends. Saudi Arabia and Egypt are as guilty of supporting terror as many or most of them. They both deserve (god forgive me on this day for saying this) to be tooled up as much or more than Iraq but we wont probably do it. Iran OTOH had better watch their step and become a real good global citizen in a hurry or they're next and I doubt we'd show the same restraint with them that we have in Iraq. The unfortunate thing is that the younger generation in Iran wants good relations with the US and the west but their government isn't listening and its going to cost that entire country a great deal if it doesn't stop soon JMHO
