The weather is gorgeous here, and last night I had the best rum holiday drink I have EVER had in my life at our next door neighbors. If anyone wants a copy of the recipe PM me.

Whatever you all celebrate, hope you have family and friends all around, and that your holidays are full of fun, and good food, and good feelings.

:-)

And Why does Not ONE Answer,
When they have been explained to so kind?

With truth in their hearts forever.
And nothing else..

On their mind..

I JUST don't KNOW... I JUST don't UNDERSTAND,,..

I will JUST have to GO...

Hi Coug! Whew! I have been on a Christmas shopping and cooking marathon for three days and have barely had time to look up. Unfortunately the Christmas dinner this year was not my best effort, even after all that work. Mr. Grainne loves potatoes, and there were plenty of those, so he was happy. Grainette dug into the peppermint stick ice cream, so I didn't have to worry about her going away hungry. I don't really know why I thought a tea bread recipe requiring the chopped peels of two large oranges would be delicious--it wasn't! It was just very chunky and weird. Every year I swear that we will start going out for holiday meals, and every year I end up cooking again, so I must be a very slow learner. The dogs had roasted potatoes and carrots with baby spinach and tomatoes and brussels sprouts, so they were content. They all got new squeaky stuffed toys for Christmas, and they are still playing with them late this evening! Our Golden Retriever had chewed up his mallard duck toy a few weeks ago after the stuffing started coming out, so he was as delighted as a small child to see another one come out of the gift wrappings. And our seventeen-year-old cat, Lizzie, jumped up on the table when my back was turned and ate a big chunk of a chocolate chip oatmeal cookie I had served with the ice cream, so she is quite full and purring loudly on my shoulder.

ANYWAY, I hope your festive meal was more delicious than mine was. I hope you had a peaceful and beautiful Christmas day, Coug. My very best wishes to you and your family for 2005.
