Sorry, Didn't mean to speak for you... When the races really become equally educated etc... Despite these things do they have equal access to healthcare; which might accelerate improvements in general health and survivability ? I think not...

Possibly the solution is to just remove them from the population ? Isn't including them as a drag factor though just a copout to hide a failure of the system of life liberty equality blah blah blah.. ? This is done time and time again in quoting US stats... relegating these folks again to some sub citizen status... That would be good (sarcasm). The US could then remain a republic but solve many problems by reducing those that qualify for the franchise. Back to fundamentalist democracy like ancient Greece ?

Would marry well to a rise in fundamentalist religion (the right religion of course (more sarcasm) <ng>)

>>Mz Zhang's point that blacks, Hispanics etc. eat a poor diet hence have a shorter life expectancy, is valid, I think.<<

It could be that poor diet in the USA is more correlated with poverty and lower education level, than race. There are a lots of overweight white southern fundamentalist bible thumpers, and I hear that deep fried ice cream is very popular in Texas. ;)
