>>My reference wasn't to contamination <<

The SARS in Vancouver was actually contamination at the Winnipeg labs, which is quite different than the WSN/33 sequences in Korean swine (which has been viewed by some as lab contaminants).

The public in general doesn't trust science in some areas, and creating a lab monster is one. The last SARS outbreak was from a lab, but was quickly contained. The situation in Korea is quite different. Japan has already banned poultry imports, which was said to be due to an H5N1 infection from last season. However, they are quite aware of the situation in Korea, although WHO has yet to say anything publicly.

As far as comments on Biotechs are concerned, I said that CHIR's problems in Liverpool may not be as easily solved as some thought when they were shut down. I think that CHIR has been damaged significantly, and human flu vaccine by CHIR for 2005/2006 is a very big maybe, which doesn't instill confidence in their abilities to come up with H5N1 or H9N2 pandemic vaccines, which may be in demand before 2005/2006.

>>I have not visited your latest website, don't plan on doing such, and don't understand why you might think that I had or would.<<

I hadn't and wouldn't. You had talked about posting comments on the one of the TWO SARS/ bird flu boards on SI. I wouldn't expect you to visit the recombinomics website or have anything of interest to say on the flu pandemic, which is why I posted an update here (which really was more for readers of this board and biotech guru who might have something useful to post. From you I expected just another personal attack, which is par for the course for territorial posters and of course you obliged).

If you have ever posted anything of substance regarding the flu pandemic, please post a link. I must have missed it.
