The problem with Yukos was the wrong kind of "primary accumulators": they supported (gasp) the free press, duma etc, it was some sort of Open Society project, the Russian way.

The book for this kind of situation has been written already. I think we should all read Soros. And watch like h*l how the situation in Ukraina now develops. The impression of two sides, western with sort of european roots and the east, with Russian, Asian backdrop,is wrong. It is two sides OK, but authoritarian system vs open society. Time to think, what we can do for them - no, for ourselves.
