hmmmm If one wants a test of manhood, one does something brave. Egging anonymous people on to mischief in an internet chat room is not only cowardly, it is a foolish waste of time. A real rite of passage, or test of manhood, has some real consequences to it- one may be eaten by the lion, one may be scalped oneself. Having a thread clogged with drivel may be a test of one's patience, but I think it can be nothing more than that. But I guess in one way it IS a test of manhood- Can one refrain from bad behavior without giving the excuse "They're doing it TOO." Can one refrain from revenges for imaginary slights? Can one refrain from calling names and chucking mud? Can one pass up the opportunity to make a bogey man out of another human being? Manhood means not acting like a child. IMO- of course.
