This is apropos of nothing- but do you like cuckoo clocks? I was always very fond of them as a child, and when my parents took me to Germany when I was 12, I spent my money on two things- a very expensive hand carved nutcracker, and a large cuckoo clock. Sadly the cuckoo expired one day- but I have picked up more of them. I think they are very cheerful things to have around the house- and my kids like them very much. I think their favorite is the one in the front fall- it has a deer at top, with a large rack of antlers, and there are squirrels, and a hunting bag, and oak leaves, it screams BLACK FOREST. :-)

My son insists that I must find him one for his room. I never knew before I started picking them up, that some of them are 5 day models, and some are one day, and so on. I don't know whether it has to do with the size of the weights or what- but my 5 day model has very large weights, while my 24 hour clock (though a large clock) has small weights. It also has little dancing people.
