China's Next-Generation IPv6 Core Router Developed
December 27, 2004

China's next-generation Internet backbone IPv6 router has successfully passed the technical examination at the PLA Information Project University.

This new router cost RMB35 million to build and has taken more than two years for over 200 technical personnel to complete. It can process 320 billion bits of information and easily shift to handle and additional 1.28T bits.

All the technology adopted on the router has been independently developed in China, which local media says is of great significance to China's national information network security.
