I would have to disagree with that. Humor is a very strange, audience specific thing, as well as a very personal thing. I've heard groups of women crack short penis jokes about men they've dated that I'm SURE would make men turn the brightest of reds, and possibly enrage them (were they able to hear the jokes)- and that men would find terrible. I've heard folks in KY (in the 90's) joke about blacks in the lowest ways possible- I've seen comedy shows with outrageous humor that I could never find funny- and yet, to call someone a bozo based on a "joke"- is difficult. I think you can judge people on what they consider serious, and what they do in seriousness; I do not think you can judge people by off the cuff remarks. I feel that way about left and right. You can contend anything you like, of course. I didn't realize my little post singled me out as someone truly interested in The Rat's character. I must admit, I like what I've seen of him, and the fact that you care enough about besmirching his character to come to me with something he said elsewhere, far from making me like him less, makes me like him more (even though I can't say I find the joke funny- but if you keep up with this, I might find it funnier than I thought it was at first....). I always figure that someone who is being dogged, might just be a kindred spirit to me- since doggers tend to be anathema to me, while I tend to like the doggees.
