Would love your mock Devonshire cream recipe! I AM getting out the scone recipes. Last night I baked a ham and then tried to blowtorch it and make the Honeybaked Ham crust. There was a recipe online for this that Ion found for me. Well, those people must use a really BIG blowtorch. Like the kind you might see in a Godzilla movie maybe, when they are trying to stop the monster. We stood there for about 45 minutes with my new little toy gamely flaming away about a quarter of an inch at a time. We managed a few chunks of burnt sugar and sprinkled it over the slices. Ammo said maybe we could have flamebroiled ants as an entree next time. Further experimentation will have to wait til we get more butane. We used it all up. That sounds like such a lovely party!! I am confused about where you are. For some reason I thought you had sold the farm in the Holler and were living in another state. Are your folks still at the old house? That will make me feel very secure, if so. I hated to lose the Holler. Ammo adores olives.
