This report still misses the big picture. It assumes "aid" is only aid if given by governments instead of private charities.

Not surprises seeing the world view that help is only help, if it is given by government institutions. Allow me to correct the paragraph.

The United States, the world's largest economy, contributes about 0.13 a year of its GDP to development aid. But that figure excludes aid to Iraq and Afghanistan as well as food aid, where the United States is the world's largest donor. It also excludes all private charities and private donors, which far exceed any other developed countries efforts.
