I just implemented some changes to the Subject page.

1. Hide/Show Header is now working again.

2. There's now a separate Hide/Show Quote option. Since we're handling it differently, the default is current Hide for everyone until they change it.

3. Any Subject, whether market-related or not, can have a Quote/Chart. For example, the Car Nut Corner just gained a chart for F. Something to do with the fact that we've got 3 1/2 licensed drivers in my immediate family, but something like 8 Fords among them. <g>

4. Free members (userlevels 1 and 2)can't hide headers or show quotes (on a Subject page). The options are displayed but are not working links.

5. If you are a free member and you had some headers hidden, they're now displaying and you can't make them not display. But if you subscribe for a premium account, the headers you previously had hidden will go back to being hidden and you can turn on quote/chart display. We left the "Hide Header" settings intact. They're just ignored in the case of free members.

Are these two boards supposed to be showing quotes in the headers?

"Just the facts, Ma'am" shows a quote for WCOM...
Subject 54350

"WAR on Terror" shows a quote for HCAR...
Subject 51912

(click on show chart)

Since they're both political boards maybe it's a mistake. FWIW

For now, yes. I think it's kinda neat to include quotes/charts in any thread that wants them, as a subtle reminder, even in political threads, that this actually is a Finance discussion site.

If it results in overusage of quotes (and we have to pay extra when we use more than the contracted number of quotes), non-market boards having quotes will probably end up on the chopping block.

Also, only Premium members (levels 10 and higher) can actually see the quotes. Which I guess I made somewhat moot last night anyway by also making it so that only Premium members can post to Coffee Shop and Political boards.
