Good tough little boat. Which is what is needed there.

I owned an Islander 21 in 1978-1979 that I kept at the Berkeley Marina. Motor was broken, so I sailed in and out of the marina. In retrospect, it was not a smart thing to do.
No. This is not advisable. Picking up docks should be done under power. Better control that way.

Not that I've never picked up a dock under sail. :-)
