7:55AM CSFB expects digital TV chip sector to grow 27% in 2005 (ATYT, TXN, BRCM) by Madeleine Acey
LONDON (CSFB) -- Credit Suisse First Boston semiconductor analysts said Texas Instruments Inc. (TXN) is "squarely positioned" to benefit from growth in chips for the digital television market. They predicted demand would rise 27 percent in 2005 and that the year would represent an "inflection" for advanced screens for which TI makes digital light processing chips. Broadcom Corp. (BRCM) and ATI Technologies Inc. (ATYT) should also see positive impact from the transition to digital transmission, the broker's team said.
