It's Funny, in the Slick Willy days you never heard about out sourcing. But it was there.
You do not think this is a natural progression for third world countries?
cycle of poverty to others? India's economy is doing pretty crappy?
Unemployment is at 5.5% in U.S. Ya we are in a deep bear market :))

"Outsourcing has been going on since the dawn of transportation and goods could be made elsewhere and imported."

"Going on since the dawn of transportation"? You mean since the invention of the wheel?

"But when key manufacturing jobs are exiting the nation, and job losses are hurting our people, shouldn't we attempt to stop the bleeding?"

Barriers to trade never produce a net benefit to society.

"Encourage family wage jobs here?"

Good idea. Now why didn't Bush think of that? . . . Wait! We're up over 2 million non-farm jobs in the last 11 months. Shazaam! I guess he did.

"Many jobs are being exported to other countries where wages are low. So we are exporting a cycle of poverty to others..."

Hmm. Higher demand for labor in a poor country is "exporting a cycle of poverty"? LOL. Brilliant economic insight, orca.
