EP, sir, the oracle of energy, I am wondering, should I trade in my Paramount, Viking, and Acclaim for equal weight of Energy Split II ? The first three have all gone up quite a bit since initial purchase where I tagged along with SpottedCat and your goodself.

Chugs, Jay

ep,

Thanks for the links. I now see where you came up with the two separate notions, that 1) damage was downplayed for the sake of commerce and 2) as many as 10,000 perished.

The librarian is correct about the suppression of details in the media. But her top figure for fatalities is 3,000, not 10,000, which seems to be the utterly fanciful exaggeration of the author of the book that you linked to.

Who is more deceptive, the media of '06 downplaying the horror, or the recent author sensationalizing the same?
