Yeah, I was shocked by this also. It struck me as particularly odd that a single American corporation, Pfizer, announced a donation of the same size, $35 million I believe, for Tsunami relief as the entire American gov't. It really struck me as bizarre that president Bush went into a tirade about how generous America is by giving 40% of all global international aid in the past year, some $2.5 billion. Talk about the wrong words at the wrong time!
