Is that a variant of string theory? Ever since I learned we are living on a 'brane', I have been waiting for the Arachanoids to step through from the other dimension. What we used to speculate in grade eight about our universe being merely an "atom" of another universe, and we read in Superman comic books about Bizarro being an alternate dimension which can be crossed-to by vibrating on another plane -- turns out to be meta-scientifically-mathematically possible, if one embraces open ended strings. All praise Frodo Baggins, the spirit-guide of the 11th dimension. So the "huge bonk" was just a car-crash of an alternate multiverse. EC<:-}

"All things are made by God and all things are sustained by Him" Made out of WHAT! ALL is ALL--whether it is mind, matter, or infinite space or spirit. God was/is either ALL or She was/is LESS THAN ALL. You take your pick. "This leaves you without an adequate explanation for existence of the universe" It is hardly a "problem" that I do not have ultimate knowledge! If I knew more than one grain of sand hidden along the beaches of knowledge...I would hardly be human and would likely treat the rest of you like mice! There are an infinite number of things I do not have an "adequate" explanation for. One of them is why mental midgets murder one another because of imaginary supernatural rewards for such inhuman behaviour. Another is why people cannot differentiate between myth and history. Not having answers for everything is not the "problem" you have suggested it is. The search for knowledge is one of the meaningful activities of life. "no basis for valuing human life" The fear of the mythology of eternal Hell is hardly a basis for valuing anything. If you cannot find a basis for valuing life without your particular superstition, then you are a frightening person, indeed. If your rational decision to recognize your particular superstition as being just one of thousands and thousands of equally primitive mythologies was sufficient to take away any basis for valuing humanity and nature...then frankly...you are a very sick fellow. If you can find no purpose and meaning in your wife, children, friends, community, country, planet, and universe--without you tie it to a particular God out of the thousands dancing in the dark corners of human brains...then I can only pity you. How ugly that you love, value, cherish, hate, praise, and condemn...only because you truly believed that Lot screwed his daughters and that God considered him an upright man. You had better take a look in the mirror and do some growing up...
