We're you joking when you said the biggest problem in modern life was not having enough cheap fuel to power it?

I really liked the quotes you included in your post, and I think you are wise in some intriguing ways. In regard to global warming, I was talking about Americans because it is so frustrating to me that American Christians are perhaps the very worst about understanding the issues of global warming, and cause so much of it, and yet I think if Jesus were alive today he would be leading the crusade against it. And since I am American by birth, I tend to see the world from an American point of view. I think I have it pretty well down in my head now that you are Canadian.

Just because you can find a gazillion articles on Google arguing that global warming is a myth doesn't make it so. You can find many SCIENTIFIC articles that deal with the scientific reality of global warming. While it is true that anything--a meteorite, whatever--could conceivably wipe out the planet earth, we have been very poor stewards of the gifts that were given us, and morally I am so disappointed in our species, which is selfish, greedy, shortsighted, etc. Now we are reaching a time when the environment really will be significantly degraded for our own grandchildren, and still it is lie, profit, rape and plunder the earth's resources as usual for much of our population. I cannot understand that thinking, no matter how hard I try.
