kumar...what time is it where you are now? It's 2:19 AM on Thursday morning here in the Pacific NW...Is your time the same as the time in SE Asia? Or how far different is it?

Some articles I'm seeing say that the aid isn't coming fast enough. I'm sure that if I were on the disaster sites, I'd think that too...but on the other hand, one has to look at the distances that have to be covered...the supplies it takes, and the time it takes to get them loaded, and the necessary numbers of people ready and loaded with their equipment to go.

I also wonder where and how the gas supplies are going to be in places where the aid workers can have access to them to transport people, and planes can be refueled...

The disaster happened Sunday morning. This minute it is less than 96 hours later.

It must seem to the victims like each minute is hours long, but in fact, it is just a minute.

Do you know if the countries that are affected have any kind of disaster preparedness equipment and food and water for their people stored? Or how were they going to handle the next disaster that befell the area?
