Those readers are the product of 20+ years of hate-talk radio and TV encouraging all the eager dittoheads to hate and despise (and wish they could hunt down and destroy) anyone who isn't exactly like them. The 51% dictatorship of the majority has no interest in tolerance or dissent. It's out of fashion after 9/11. Like many other fundamental beliefs spelled out in the United States Constitution, one of the most crucial documents of our time. I hope it survives to the next generation. And I wonder how many hate-talk show hosts discussed the poll showing 56% of the American people think Iraq was a mistake. We are the only country I know of that changed its mind about the rightness of the Iraq campaign since the whole mess began.
